History & Mission

Our organization was originally founded in 1983 (under a different name) that ultimately became known as the French-American Chamber of Commerce, Michigan Chapter in 1992. Our mission is to contribute to the improvement of economic, commercial and financial relations between France and the United States.

The Michigan Chapter of the French-American Chamber of Commerce is a member of the French- American Chamber of Commerce, the oldest bilateral chamber of commerce in the United States comprised of 20 chapters in major cities of the U.S. representing more than 5,000 member companies. The FACC is a non-profit, non-political organization dedicated to the development of commercial relations between French and American businesses.

The FACC is also a member of CCI France International, an international network of 113 French Foreign Chambers of Commerce that spans 83 countries and represents over 30,000 members worldwide, multiplying our members’ opportunities for finding reliable overseas business contacts and partners. Our members include French companies doing business in the United States, U.S. companies in our region doing business in and with France, professional service firms, banks, retailers, other organizations, university faculty members, students and others with an enthusiasm for business and cultural events related to French-American trade.
