This session will be an exceptional opportunity to engage in a small group discussion with legendary Directors of Design, while sipping Champagne on the lawn of Meadow Brook Hall.

Learn from the Directors of Design of iconic brands how their views of the iconic past have informed their visions for the future of transportation and beyond

Tickets for Meadow Brook: DESIGN are limited VIP tickets. They include full access to the main event Meadow Brook CONNECT.

Directors of Design:

Ralph Gilles

Chief Design Officer, Stellantis

Ralph Gilles started at Chrysler in 1992, and he’s still with the company as the chief design officer at the newly formed conglomerate, Stellantis. His design resume is legendary: The Chrysler 300C, Dodge Magnum, Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT and the SRT Viper. But now he’s leading Stellantis into the electric future, which requires (and allows) for radical new designs.

Tadge Juechter

Corvette Executive Chief Engineer

Every Corvette made from 1953 to 2019 had the engine in the front, the transmission in the middle and differential in the rear. Tadge Juechter, who is a 41-year General Motors veteran, led the engineering team that changed all that. He joined the Corvette team in 1993 and he is one of the minds behind every new Corvette since he took over the reins as chief engineer from Dave Hill in 2006.

Bob Lutz

Vice Chairman of Product Design, General Motors (ret.)

Robert Anthony Lutz is a Swiss American automotive executive. He served as a top leader of all of the United States Big Three automobile manufacturers, having been in succession executive vice president (and board member) of Ford Motor Company, president and then vice chairman (and board member) of Chrysler Corporation, and vice chairman of General Motors.

Steve Pasteiner

Designer for General Motors

Steve Pasteiner spent 22 years with General Motors Design, where he became the Assistant Chief Designer for Buick and Chevrolet. After his very productive career, Steve Pasteiner started creating beautiful automobiles at his own design and prototyping business, Advanced Automotive Technologies — not merely sketching the machines but rendering them in fiberglass and metal. Steve also owns Pasteiner’s an icon store that stocks Detroit's largest selection of automotive books and hundreds of collectables.

Joel Piaskowski

Global Design Director of Ford

Joel Piaskowski stayed with General Motors for 12 years before moving to Hyundai in 2003 where he was credited with the design for the Genesis sedan and the Genesis Coupe.

In 2010 he joined Ford as the director of exterior design for the Americas. He led the Mustang and F-150 projects. He was appointed head of Ford of Europe design, then later Ford global design director for cars and crossovers.
