Batteries and Electric Cars - Outlook, Costs and Market Potential By 2010 including Impact on Green Industry Job Creation

The development of electric cars is on the agenda of most governments and car manufacturers and is an important topic for environmental groups and electric utilities. As part of its work to support the Obama administration on the US automotive industry, The Boston Consulting Group has conducted a global review of available battery technologies and performances. It has modeled the likely evolution of battery costs  by 2020 and developed a forecast of the market for electric cars for this time horizon. This raises many questions for technology providers and governments alike. BCG has also evaluated, in another piece of work, the job creation potential related to e-cars in the context of other green jobs creation opportunities. Mr. Mosquet will share the perspectives and predictions of of The Boston Consulting Group on this most timely topic.
